There are two main topics Paul addresses in chapter 9 of Romans; God’s promises and the sovereignty of God. What we need to understand approaching each one is that God does not think like we think. His ways are higher. God’s promises are never failing. He is committed to their fulfillment, and our job is to wait. Our doubts over what seems impossible to be manifested and our impatience are never justifications for us trying to put the control in our hands and out of the ones of God. We must remember all things are under His rule and nothing happens without His direct permission. His sovereignty is our only hope. We may question if He is unjust by allowing problems to come against us, but in actuality each trial allows for a supernatural intervention in which God will raise us up into His promises to us.
