WHAT IS AZUSA NOW?

There are times which Scripture describes as "full" — periods of unusual ripeness in which God unleashes His prophetic purpose across the earth.  Such days of faith and expectation often come during periods of crisis or widespread uncertainty. For 15 years, amidst massive cultural decay, Lou Engle and TheCall have sought to proclaim the bold, uncompromising message of consecration to Jesus. Like John the Baptist, we have cried out, "Prepare the way of the Lord!"

Yet the last statement of John was not "Prepare the way," but "Behold the Lamb!" If there was truly a John Movement, then a Jesus Movement is surely coming! Believing that decades of globe-spanning prayer have saturated the heavens, we will boldly ask God for the rain of revival on April 9th, 2016. We will consecrate an entire day — 15 hours — for the purpose of unity, miracles, healing, and the proclamation of the gospel. Our rally cry: Come, Holy Spirit! Instead of 120 in the Upper Room, we seek to gather as many as 120,000 in one place and one accord to simply exalt Jesus. And for inspiration, we turn to the most powerful expression of revival in modern times: the historic Azusa Street Revival of 1906.

Everything just does not feel right.

For about a month now I have had this feeling that everything just does not feel right. I am not sure what I am really trying to say but things are just crazy. People everywhere it seems are disconnected with reality. Society is in an upheaval of discontentment, entitlement mentality, selfishness at an all time high. I am praying for God to come and shake us all up. Shake us upside down, sideways and in and out.  I believe and pray that when our praise goes up perhaps His rain will come down and drown us all in His presence and shake us up. Let our praise be "turned up" in all of us and may His glory fill this new temple with His greater glory.

Alan

Greater Glory in New Temple

1In the seventh month, in the one and twentieth day of the month, came the word of the LORD by the prophet Haggai, saying, 2Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and to the residue of the people, saying, 3Who is left among you that saw this house in her first glory? and how do ye see it now? is it not in your eyes in comparison of it as nothing? 4Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the LORD, and work: for I am with you, saith the LORD of hosts:5According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not. 6For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land7And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts. 8The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.9The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.

A Gift Giver

A Gift Giver

By: Alan Smith

  • Luke 2:8-12: Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.  And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid.  Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.  For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.  And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” (NKJV)

It was at this time that God wanted to give His greatest Gift to mankind.  This Gift would be a living example of the Spirit of God in human form, and God would be giving all that He had in and through this Gift.  It is God’s nature to give all of the time, and when He gives, a supernatural element is released.  He has given us life, opportunities, food, jobs, the air we breathe, and as noted in the scripture above, even the Gift of a Savior.  Just think, every day that is experienced is a day which has been created and given as a gift by the Father.  Would you like to give to others as the Father gives to each of us?  Would you like to know the secret of the Spirit of giving?  Let’s look at the life of Jesus to gain more spiritual understanding of this giving.

Jesus, God’s greatest Gift to the world, has given more to mankind than anyone who has ever been born.  He has given us the instructions for how we begin this secret journey of gift giving.  First of all, He knew He had to go to the source of all things if He was going to be a Gift Giver.  Jesus knew that within Himself He had nothing to give, but when He cooperated and worked with the Father all of a sudden everything the Father owned became “substance” which He could give away.  His “faith” in the Father made Him whole in everything He did.  What a perception Jesus had in being our example of a Gift Giver!  Jesus had “faith” that the Father would show Him what He should give each and every day, and His faith became “substance”.

Jesus was also a thinker.  He didn’t walk around in a lifeless form.  On the contrary, He was always praying; which being interpreted means, He was talking to God.  Jesus knew the Father wanted to create and give something new and fresh each day so therefore, Jesus would talk and then think with the Father every day.  If we want to be a Gift Giver, we must talk to the Father and then we must think in a certain and a different way.  We must understand that how we do things is a direct result of the way we think.  If we want to do things in life in a “certain way”, then we must learn to think in a “way” that will be in harmony with the “certain way” we want life to be.  Jesus wanted to give so He would “think” in a way which was conducive to giving.

Jesus also wanted to set “free” the riches of the Kingdom of Heaven and He knew that only the “truth” could accomplish this heavenly task.  So we see we must “think” in a certain way in order to be in harmony with the “truth”.  To think and live life in “truth” for the future requires much more of us than allowing our present surroundings to tell us how to think and live.  We must “think” and live in “truth” regardless of our surroundings.  This type of “thinking” is creative in nature.

So how will we be able to give out of what we now have?  Jesus did not think according to His surroundings; no, not at all.  Our surroundings are only the truth of the past and not the truth of the future.  Our surroundings are proof of past “thinking”.  This type of past thinking is very easy and requires no effort, and it will not bring new and fresh things to give away.

If we are going to be Gift Givers and give out of the treasures of Heaven, we must start thinking and living for the future and not thinking and living out of the past.  We must start doing as Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing.”  Remember that God is creating a new day every day and He wants us to create it with Him.  To do this we must have a creative type of thinking and not a competitive type of thinking.  It is very hard to maintain this type of creative thinking, especially when our surroundings contradict the “truth” and our “thinking”.  But this is where “faith” comes in.

  • Heb 11:1: Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. (NIV)

Every action in the world which is seen will produce an image in the mind that will start a conflict of “past” versus “future”.  Only the “truth” sustained by “faith” will change the future.  When we walk in this, we will flee from all fear and doubt and walk with the Father into a new day of created abundance from the Kingdom of God.  It is from the abundance of this Kingdom that we can give gifts to God and man.  God sent His Son to this earth as an eternal gift to mankind.  God is the Creator of all things, but this is a minor gift.  His major gift is that of giving: giving freely; giving when there is no appreciation; giving when He is not recognized; giving not expecting anything in return; giving because He first loved us.  God gives because He sees into the future.  He knows that giving freely is pure spirit and pure spirit will last forever.  It transcends time and space and will last for eternity.  The life of Jesus was given freely and God expects nothing in return from us.  All we need to do is receive this wonderful gift from our Father.

Receive this One called Jesus today and receive the true gift of Christmas.  When we have done this, we may live and walk through life asking the Father each and every day what we can give.  Giving is not just one day a year, but instead, the lifestyle of heaven.  Let’s build a fire within our souls today and allow our hearts to be warmed with the Spirit of Christmas.  Let’s give what the Father says He wants us to give.  Let’s not give out of necessity, but out of hearing our heavenly Father say to us: “Help that mother with food for her children this week.  Or, give that homeless man a hug and tell him that Jesus loves him just the same”.  Giving comes from a heart that is in harmony with the Kingdom of Heaven.  Let’s give out of the riches of the Heavenly Kingdom those gifts which have eternal value.

  • 1 Corinthians 13:13:  And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.  (NIV)

Blessings,

Alan

There is a confidence we have when walking with God that things seem to get better when we just "stick with it". Just "stick with it" in trusting God for your life, for your health, for your job and for your happiness.  Just "stick with it" in doing what is right when you have been wronged. When you feel like you will not live through it just "stick with it". Just "stick with it" for God is "sticking with it" for you.

The Supreme Court and the Mark of the Beast

MorningStar Prophetic Bulletin #93 - April 30, 2015

In Revelation 13 it is prophesied that at the end of the age there will be a false prophet that arises to prepare for and give power to one called “the beast.” This “beast” deceives the nations and requires all to take a mark, 666. Without this mark no one can “buy, sell, or trade.” This “mark of the beast” has been a dominant subject in eschatology (the study of biblical prophecies of the end of the age) since the first century, and many things have been called this that turned out not to be so. However, we know it will come, and it may be upon us.

Few events in history have so remarkably fit the biblical scenario of this mark as the potential U.S. Supreme Court decision on same-sex marriage. As bizarre as this may sound, this is an uncanny parallel to the biblical prophecy. Even if this is not the actual mark of the beast, it is at least a precursor, a “dress rehearsal” that sets up the world for this ultimate test.

Understanding “The Beast”

First, taking the mark of the beast is not the sin, but rather worshipping the beast. The mark is just the evidence of what one is doing. So to understand the mark, we must first understand the beast.

This “beast” has been presumed by many Bible scholars to be an individual, such as the “antichrist” figure. He is also called the “man of sin,” or “abomination of desolation” prophesied by Daniel. Others have seen it as a system, a world power such as a world bureaucracy. Some have believed it to be the spirit that dominates the world at the end of the age. Some have concluded that it could come in all of these forms. There may be some merit to all of these assumptions, but the principles given in Scripture for identifying the nature of the beast are clear enough for any seeker of truth to discern it, regardless of the form in which it comes.

This beast “comes up out of the earth,” which is a term for “earthly mindedness.” Such is the root of what is popularly referred to as “secular humanism.” This is the philosophy, perspective, or “worldview” promoting the exaltation of man, his wisdom and abilities, above God. This philosophy presumes that man does not need God and should not consider Him as a factor in human affairs even if He does exist.

Because man was created at the end of the sixth day, the number six is often symbolic of man in Scripture. For this reason, many have presumed that the number 666, or three sixes, was man’s attempt to displace the Trinity, and could fit with this belief.

The “abomination of desolation” that was prophesied by Daniel, Jesus, and the first century apostles could have been translated “the abomination that desolates.” Because homosexuality is referred to as an abomination in Scripture, and its impact on Western culture is so quickly and profoundly desolating the moral fabric of Western civilization, it is to be expected that many will start to consider this “the abomination that desolates.”

Who could have dreamed just two decades ago that we would have major cities celebrating “Days of Decadence” with all manner of perversions being performed and flaunted openly in our streets? Who would have thought that such a moral and religious nation could fall so quickly to the ultimate national depravity spoken of in Isaiah 5—calling what God calls “good,” “evil,” and what God calls “evil,” “good,” while the dishonorable are honored and the honorable are dishonored? Is that not precisely what has happened to America in just the last generation?

The meltdown of morality in our military could be happening even faster. Just a few years ago, the U.S. military was such a bastion of morality and integrity that adultery was considered grounds for dismissal because one’s vows had been broken. “Don’t ask, don’t tell” was the handwriting on the wall that a devastating change was coming. But who could have foreseen the pace of the desolation of our military since homosexuality was openly allowed in the ranks? It moved quickly from everyone having to accept it, to everyone having to celebrate it if you expected any further promotions, to now being forced out if you do not celebrate it.

Christians are now openly discriminated against, if not persecuted, in the U.S. military. Not only are some of the best and brightest leaving the military, they are no longer choosing it as a possible career.

The same is taking place throughout government services on all levels, as well as corporations, education, and the media, as was once the case for a long time in arts and entertainment. Now, with a single Supreme Court decision it could be that Christians, Muslims, and Jews that honor their books as the word of God will not be able to “buy, sell, or trade” in America without the constant threat of losing your business, or your position and livelihood, because of an offended homosexual.

Even if this is not “the mark of the beast,” it will be for those who are now losing what they, in some cases, have given their lives to build, because they would not compromise their religious convictions in order to buy, sell, or trade. If the Supreme Court decision falls the way it is expected to, we can be sure that very soon every Christian in America will have to make a similar choice between obeying the Word of God or this beast.

The Great Awakening

The good news is that few things have begun to wake up the sleeping giant of the church like this issue now before the U.S. Supreme Court. A growing number of the most influential leaders across the spectrum of Christianity are now calling for civil disobedience if the Supreme Court rules that same-sex marriage is a constitutional right to be enforced throughout America.

Regardless of what caveats the Supreme Court may add to their decision to feign protection of our freedom of religion, an ultimate firewall that protects all of our freedoms will have been breached. Six thousand years of recorded history where marriage was always between a man and woman will have been overturned. Already there are applications for threesomes to be married, and polygamy at any level will have to be accepted. We also have applications filed for some to “marry” their animals. Voices within the gay agenda have declared that they see nothing wrong with pedophilia. One bad decision for our Supreme Court and America’s slide into depravity will then have been greased, and we will go down fast, unless…

Saving America

America’s slide to this point of moral depravity seems to have happened quickly, but it didn’t. It is the result of a very intentional, systematic erosion of our values that has been going on for almost a century. Only recently has the momentum of this evil strategy gained speed as we enter into the last phase of what the perpetrators boasted would destroy America from within.

This strategy has been very public on the part of several major groups, who will end up fighting each other over the spoils if they succeed. But for now, we must focus on what will stop and then reverse this momentum in order to restore the foundations America was built upon.

President Reagan was at least partially right when he said, “Government is not the answer, it is the problem.” Our salvation will not come from the White House, or any other state house. It can only come from the church house. If the church in America does not rise up to become the salt and light she is called to be, there is no remedy, and an ever-deepening darkness will continue to spread over our land with increasing speed and devastation. The encouragement is that the biggest sleeping giant of all is starting to wake up.

When I was in Washington recently, a congressman said to me that there would be more courage in Washington if they saw more courage in the church. He said they do not feel that the church has their back. The church in America must ultimately accept the blame for what has happened in America, but it can also be the solution. Following are the four major crises in the church that are also the basis of the major crises of our times, as identified at a recent roundtable of leaders of national and international stature:

We have a crisis of courage.

This is the failure of Christian leaders to address the crucial issues of our times with clarity and boldness.

We have a crisis of a lack of moral excellence in the church.

This has robbed the church of its moral authority.

We have a crisis of Christian disengagement from our civic responsibilities.

This has robbed the world of the salt and light capable of preventing its corruption and dominance by evil.

We have a crisis of a lack of the church’s preparation for the inevitable challenges of our times.

This will cost loss of lives, and it will cost many the greatest honor we can receive for our lives—hearing,“Well done, good and faithful servant”(see Matthew 25:21 NIV).

The church is called to be the salt and light in this world, and this meltdown has happened on our watch. We must take responsibility, and we must take action. If we will take responsibility, acknowledge our failures, which is repentance, and become what we are called to be, this great failure can become one of our biggest victories, and our nation can be saved. If the church does not do this, we do not have much time left.

When the Iron Curtain fell, the church was not ready. The cults and crooks were ready, and they filled the vacuum. The week following the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center, churches were flooded with their biggest crowds in history. The church was not ready, did not have the answers, and another one of the greatest opportunities in recent times was lost. The next strike will be our third, and we cannot fail this greatest of all responsibilities and opportunities. If we do, it will very likely be our last chance.

What Do We Do?

First:

We must decide now that we are going to obey God and that we will refuse to obey any mandate from any power that is in conflict with God’s Word. We must be prepared to pay the price for obeying God, which is likely to be significant and can affect the rest of our lives. Of course, the price of not obeying Him will be much higher and eternal, so we need to determine now who we will serve.

For such a choice, we need to be clear about what God’s Word says on these ultimate issues. As the Lord said through Isaiah the prophet, if we do not speak according to His Word then we do not have the light. Each of us must choose whether we believe His Word or not. Then we must choose if we will obey it or not. We can expect these choices to both prune and purify the church. What remains of the church will likely be much smaller, but it will be far more powerful.

Accepting that The Bible is God’s Word to us is a major issue for all who claim to be Christians. Many have accepted the constant attacks on the validity of the written Word by the enemies of the faith. The very first lie of Satan was to get Eve to doubt what God had clearly said, and this has been his basic tactic since causing the fall of multitudes. Make no mistake about it—this is the point at which we will fall or stand.

Let us consider that if Jesus, who was the Word, would take His stand on “It is written!” how much more must we? Now is the time for all Christians to decide this issue. If we are going to follow Christ, we must believe His Word, fortify ourselves in His Word, and obey it.

Many Christians have bought Satan’s lie that would cause them to doubt what God has clearly said. Doing so makes it even easier for them to buy into the teachings that blur what God has made clear on just about any issue. Those who have done this will soon fall away. This will be a major factor separating the true from the false.

The next major factor that will likely cause many to fall away will be the fear of man, or caring more about what people think than what God thinks. The first group cast into the lake of fire at the end of the Book of Revelation is the cowardly. We can expect many who know the Word of God to fall into this category, because they fear men more than God. In Scripture that is an idolatry also called “an abomination,” as is the one who turns their ear from hearing the Word of God (see Proverbs 28:9).

Second:

We must strengthen our own foundations, especially those under specific attack. The most important of these is the family. This is the most basic and important of all units within a culture or nation. Family is under relentless attack now, not just the definition of it.

A happy, functioning family is one of the greatest lights. Being part of a happy, functioning family is one of the greatest experiences we can have in this life. Being in a dysfunctional family is at the root of our most devastating social problems.

We must also teach and esteem manhood and womanhood, with all of the dignity and nobility they are given by God in the Scriptures. After getting one to disbelieve that The Bible is the Word of God, the devil’s basic tactic is to blur the distinctions that God has made clear. If we are going to be lights in our time, we have to stand against the spirit of this age and esteem men who are men, and women who are women.

Third:

We must call what God calls “sin and wickedness,” sin and wickedness, and we must repent of it ourselves. God does not forgive excuses—He forgives sin that is repented of. We’re not repenting if we are making excuses, or blaming someone else for the way we are.

Homosexuality is called an “abomination” in Scripture. Abominations are weightier than other sins because they are so destructive that they bring desolation. Now let’s consider some other things that are also called “abominations” in Scripture:

lying

spreading strife

using unjust weights

devising evil plans

worshipping idols

a proud heart

the way of the wicked

the devious

acting unjustly

those who scoff (ridicule)

shedding innocent blood

wearing clothing of the opposite sex

those who justify the wicked while condemning the righteous

sacrifices made to God by those living in wickedness

those who choose (vote for?) those who are of “no account”

those who oppress the poor and needy, rob, or fail to keep their word

Now, who has never committed an abomination? If you claim you have not, you are likely guilty of the abomination of lying. So what do we do? We do not say everyone is okay because everyone is guilty, which is an ultimate folly that we are warned against. The Word of God is clear in places like Galatians 5 that such will not inherit the kingdom of God.

What we do is: We first get the log out of our own eye if we are guilty of, or are still practicing, any of these. Then we judge those who are trapped in sin for the purpose of their redemption, reconciliation to God, and their restoration from sin and its consequences.

Fourth:

This is not last because it is the least important, but because it is the most important. We must grow in love for God and one another. We are told, “Love never fails” (see I Corinthians 13:8), which could have been translated, “Love never quits.” Anyone will quit at some level except for those who are in love.

We must love God above all to love all as we should. “The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing,” and this is the main thing we are called to do. This will be the main thing that determines if we will be successful human beings or not when we come to the great Judgment Day.

We are also commanded to love our enemies. The gay agenda has turned into the biggest enemy of Christianity in America at this time. Extreme elements within the agenda are resolved to drive Christians into “the closet,” just as they were forced to live for so long. Other enemies of Christianity are joining with them in seeking to drive Christ out of our culture. This is the definition of “antichrist.” Even so, we are told that our war is “not against flesh and blood” (see Ephesians 6:12), or people, but against the spiritual forces that have them in bondage.

We are also told that we, Christians, have been given divinely powerful weapons that can bring down every stronghold exalting itself against the knowledge of God (see II Corinthians 10:4). We will address this in a future Bulletin, but this is a battle we cannot lose if we follow “the Captain of the host,” or the Captain of God’s armies.

We must keep in mind that during the greatest times of darkness, the Lord raised up His greatest lights. Some of those greatest lights were those who came out of darkness, like Paul the Apostle. Paul was possibly the greatest enemy of the church for a time, and he was transformed into possibly the greatest friend of God and builder of the church.

Let us keep in mind that even those who, at this time, may be in the greatest opposition to God and His truth, if saved, can become some of the greatest champions of the faith. The transformation of the enemies of God into friends of God is the greatest victory of all. This will happen to many if the present followers of Christ will stand up as the champions of the faith we are called to be. We are here now for such a time as this, and it is now our turn.

Benjamin Netanyahu Prophecy

Benjamin Netanyahu Prophecy

Prophetic Word spoken by Wendy Alec Benjamin Netanyahu in April 2008:

NOT ONE TERM – NOT TWO TERMS – BUT THREE TERMS AS PRIME MINISTER OF ISRAEL YOU SHALL SEE

For My son – I have heard your voice in past years lifted up to me in the midnight hour and even in the months and the years past – when you were passed over in office, My son – KNOW THIS – THAT YOU WERE NOT PASSED OVER BY ME. For I, the Lord God of Israel – I, the sovereign God of the earth have raised you up – BY MY OWN HAND. I have raised you up and I saw the struggle in your soul – and I heard you say – it should be me – this is my role – this is my place. But I have guarded YOU JEALOUSLY, says the Lord, even as I have guarded ISRAEL JEALOUSLY. And I have kept you, son – For a SET time and a season – for the latter days For like King David I have taken you even from the sheepfold and I have raised you up for such a time and for such a PLACE and for such a SEASON I have raised you up says the Lord. For I have not raised you up not for your own sake My son – But FOR JERUSALEM’S SAKE I have raised YOU UP and as you have watched the political powers shift and sway – know this My child – I have chosen you by my own hand - NOT for the seasons of the PAST or the seasons of the immediate present but with deliberate intent I have kept you for THIS NEXT and this SOON COMING SEASON and I tell you, My son – THIS SEASON COMES SWIFTLY TOWARDS YOU I tell you, My son – this season descends SWIFTLY upon you and even as ISRAEL was born even in a day. The nation was born even in a day so, like ISRAEL the nation you are hewn from, EVEN IN A DAY – I SHALL SET YOU IN OFFICE - IN THE HIGH PLACE AS RULER OF ISRAEL YOU SHALL BE. For NOT ONE TERM says the Lord. Not TWO terms says the Lord. But THREE terms – says the Lord

For NOT ONE TERM says the Lord. Not TWO terms says the Lord. But THREE terms. And then the time of the END. And you shall see and marvel. And you shall see that I, the Lord GOD of Israel and NO MAN has done this thing. Not by your own strength or the strength of others, says the Lord. BUT BY MY HAND. I shall set you on high. And I shall set you as a WATCHMAN over my Land as a WATCHMAN over the WALLS of Jerusalem and even like King David YOUR REIGN shall be. And it shall be JUST IN TIME says the Lord. JUST IN TIME

For your voice shall cry out against the plans of MEN. And your voice shall cry out against the strategies of the enemy. And it shall be different than before. For your voice shall roar in the White House and your voice shall roar in the United Nations and your voice shall resound even to the European Union And you shall say NO – It is ENOUGH NO – Jerusalem is OUR’S. Jerusalem is the Lord our God’s.

For I tell you, child – you shall yet see things in your day that will make grown men tremble. Remember My son – that I HAVE SET YOU – to water and nurture and GUARD my people ISREAL and GUIDE My people ISRAEL. I HAVE JEALOUSLY GUARDED YOU TO RELEASE YOU TO REIGN OVER Israel in the time of the END. Be FAITHFUL My son. Cry out to Me for WISDOM in these coming days, My son. Honour My name among your people Israel, My son. And WHEN YOU SEE these things come to pass – REMEMBER ME says the Lord.

And I will set a flame of fire around you in your days of office And many, many, many will be the sinister schemes laid in secret against you But I shall PROTECT YOU says the Lord And you shall know my covering. You shall know my protection and you shall know My grace. And even in your personal life says the Lord, I am about to pour a great oil and balm upon you – And you shall know PEACE and REST on all sides of your personal life, My son. And it shall be My blessing upon you.

While the nations rage against you and I shall hook out the nations even those of the West that the world shall see their true intents and their evil schemes against My Land. And no longer shall their intentions remain hidden from view, says the Lord For I am roused with a holy anger against them and as you speak I SHALL SPEAK. And as you roar I SHALL SURELY ROAR FROM ZION. For you are My chosen vessel for Israel in these last and coming days.

(NIV)

Merry Christmas,

Alan

A Thankful Heart

 A Thankful Heart:

The Lifestyle of a People That Can See the Invisible God

By: Alan Smith

n  Psalm 100: Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!  Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.  Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; W e are His people and the sheep of His pasture.  Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.

Hmmm: to be a person that is really thankful; thankful for all things.  Is it possible for us to be transformed into this heavenly creature?  Does the condition of our hearts determine what we see?  Does the condition of our hearts help to focus our spiritual eyes?  How can we see this invisible God we love?  I mean, how can we really see Him?  But then we have to ask, is He really invisible or do we just need eyes that can see Him?  Let’s take a spiritual journey and explore a little of the invisible world.

Things we see can be a language.  The things we see around us do not come out of nowhere.  They were created according to something in the invisible realm.  What if we look at a “key” verse that unlocks this unseen world?

n  Col 1:16  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him. (KJV)

So we can see that the scripture above has given us a road map into the unseen world.  The Bible is teaching us that there are two worlds: one is visible and the other is invisible.  Both worlds were created by Him.  The created world, which is the visible, gives us the capacity to understand the unseen world, which is the invisible.  The created world is a reflection of the unseen world.  The unseen world has two speeds in which it moves.  It moves faster than the naked eye and it moves slower than the naked eye.  Let me give you an example.  Can we see a tree or a child grow?  I think not, but we can see a miracle of life.  It is just moving at a pace that is slower than we can see with the naked eye.

On the other hand, there are also things that move faster than we can see.  This means there is part of this creation that we just cannot see with the naked eye.  This part of creations makes up the unseen world.  God gives us revelations in which we can understand and see the unseen world.  One of these revelations is that of the “thankful heart”.  If God is in an unseen world, perhaps we need the capacity to go where He is.  It is becoming very evident that we cannot enter into this world with our own understanding.  The scriptures reveal to us a truth.  We see in Psalm 100 above that we are to Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.  If we are truly going to enter into this unseen world and into His presence, we first must do this with “thanksgiving”: thanksgiving unto Him.  Are we truly thankful to God?  I often find myself not very thankful at all.  On the contrary, I find myself very unthankful most of the time.  Why, we might ask ourselves?  Could it be that what we focus on determines what we see?  If what we see in the invisible world is determined by the condition of our hearts; then an “unthankful heart” sees that which is dark and depressing.  It is always seeing what is going wrong on the planet.  A “thankful heart”, however, can see dark as well as light, but chooses to focus on the light and the good.  It sees what could be on the planet if our hearts were truly thankful for the opportunity that God has given us.  I pray that we will consider our ways and become a thankful people unto our worthy God for all He has and is doing for us.

Blessings,

Alan

Pierce" hspace="10" align="left" />We are in a time of major warfare. I will be sending out prophetic words for the next several days until we breakthrough this. Be alert and watchful!

We Have Entered A Dangerous Season! Even though the enemy would like to knock your legs out from under you and drive you off of your path, decree that the Lord is taking a stand and illuminating your path.

I heard the Lord say, "The confrontation of the enemy is at hand. You must be filled with praise to enter into that conflict ahead. War is stirring in your midst. War is rising. Unless I rise and inhabit your praises, you will not be able to praise in the midst of the conflicts ahead. I am calling you into a place and I am going before you so that I am waiting to give you victory. I will establish Myself in your midst. When your conflicts arise, praise Me and I will assure you of victory in your wars ahead."

Living in the Kingdom (Part 2):

The Nature of Heaven

by: Alan Smith

2 Peter 1:10-11: Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (NKJV)

What will heaven be like?  Will it be like Disney World—or even better?  What really makes heaven, heaven?  Will it be like earth, but not in a fallen state?  Will nature in heaven worship the Lord?  Could it be that nature itself is giving us a reflection of heaven?  It makes us feel so wonderful to see nature, in all its beauty, worship it’s Creator.  It is amazing to me how we seem to want to get back to things that are natural.  We want to “get back to nature”.  We think if we could only be more natural and closer to nature that everything would be all right.  What is this compelling of mankind to get back to nature?  We want to feel the warm earth in our hands.  We want to watch the flowers bloom in spring.  Does God have another language in which to speak to us?  Let us take a look at what the Bible has to say about this “key” that opens our understanding of the entrance into the heavens.

Rom 1:20: For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities — his eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

Did you get it?  God’s qualities are in His nature.  And we can see and understand what they are by the things He has made.  God’s heavenly nature created the very nature in which we are living in this natural world.  Could it be this is why we want to “get back to nature”?  You know, be more organic.  Does it give us the feeling we are getting closer to the Creator?  Could it be we are just trying to trade our old nature for a new one by trying to be more organic like God?  An organic nature of heaven: I bet this would make me very healthy.  The trend today is that everyone wants to be more organic in the things we put into our bodies.  I think this is great; but could it be that we need to feed our spiritual bodies an organic food as well?  Manna from heaven: an organic spiritual food?  Psalm 78:24: “And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven.”  This fresh manna that we can receive by feeding daily on the living food from our Creator would begin to bring life to our fruit.  Galatians 5:22-23: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”  This daily feeding in the Word of God would help our anger, which is an indicator of our spiritual blood pressure.  Could this organic food from heaven even change how we think?  We know from Isaiah that our natural thoughts are not like His thoughts.  Isaiah 55:8-9: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.  For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”  Boy would this be incredible: that we can begin to think more like Him—the very nature of God!  I bet the sign over the spiritual buffet bar in heaven would say “COME AND DINE: ALL YOU CAN EAT”.

Alan

Living in the Kingdom

Living in the Kingdom

By: Alan Smith

2 Peter 1:10-11: Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (NKJV)

Have you ever wondered how you will feel when you enter heaven?  You know, will you feel happy, overjoyed, and peaceful; but yet overwhelmed?  What will it really be like?  I have wondered this many times, as years ago, I was told to prepare myself for this journey.  Twenty two years have passed since I had a tumor in my lung and was told that I had only six months to live.  This is not what I expected to hear, nor what I wanted to hear.  Suddenly, my world stopped.  I found myself in a place that I had never been before.  It was amazing what started happening to me and in me.  The first thought I had was, “How am I going to work this into my busy schedule?”  Is this dumb or what?  I discovered I did not have time for this illness today because I was too busy preparing for tomorrow.  It appeared that I was too short sighted.

Let me share with you two truths that the Holy Spirit revealed to me during this time.  The first one is “short term future” and the second one is “long term future”.  “Short term future” does not include “long term future”; but “long term” does include “short term”.  Through this ordeal, I realized that I needed to expand my futuristic thinking.  All of the vision of my “tomorrows” was too short.  I was guilty of “preparing” to stay here on earth, instead of “living” unto where I was going.  I learned that living in “today’s moments” prophetically spoke into my long range experiencing of my future.  The life of the spirit can only be experienced in the “now” moment.  I learned that ninety eight percent of my “today” was preparing for my short term future.  Therefore, I only lived two percent of my “today” in the “now” moment which actually was preparing me for my “long term future”.  The things that we do in our "today’s" prophetically set the coarse for our “tomorrows”.  Just as taking care of your health prophetically speaks to the future of your body, so do your actions, in any given day, prophetically speak to what you will be doing in your future.  Each day is prophetic unto the next.

Now back to my illness. Slowly, my body was yielding to the “short term future” spoken to me by my doctors.  However, my spirit man was yielding more to the “long term future”.  Things in my life were beginning to shift.  I knew leaving planet earth was upon me.  The “short term future” I had been living for was about to expire.  How could I have been so short sighted?  Was I looking for life in all the wrong places?  As I pondered this question, I was convinced that my “short term future” was very necessary and was not to be ignored.  I will explain what I am trying to say further if you will allow me to give value to my two terms of “future”.

Let’s give a value of 1 to “short term future” and a value of 2 to “long term future”.  Now, 1 can not and does not include 2, for 2 is larger than 1.  But 2 can and does include 1.  The truth is that a 2 is just a 1 supersized.  Some believe that we must leave our “short term futures” and that we must totally kill them before we can walk into our “long term futures”.  This is not so.  #2 must have #1 to even exist.  It is the #1 that needs to lose its identity into the #2, so that #2 can be created and come forth.  Would you like to live a supersized life?  Would you like your “short term future” to be guided and molded by your “long term future”?  Perhaps we are being too short sighted about our futures, and we need to expand our borders of life: our futures, our destinies.  Perhaps the Lord has been writing our “long term futures” all the time.  Today, let’s receive God’s #2, which will include our #1.  We will then be in Him, and He will be in us for eternity.

Well, that’s enough for today.  Blessings to you this wonderful day, for it can be just part of a script written for you in your “long term scroll” of life.  It’s your choice.

Blessings,

Open Arms and the Anointing

“Open Arms and the Anointing”

By: Alan Smith

  • Luke 8:40: On the other side of the lake the crowds received him with open arms, for they had been waiting for him.

Have you ever had someone extend unto you their “open arms”?  I am sure this is a rare occasion for most.  With an invitation of “open arms”, life is given forth.  When we experience “open arms”, we feel very safe and welcomed with love.  We see in this verse that when Jesus got to the other side of the lake, He was greeted by the crowds with “open arms”.  I believe that the crowds were just imitating the Lord.  What does this mean?  This means that their hearts were open to receiving the Lord.  It is one thing to greet the Lord with “open arms”, but it is another to greet someone we think less of with “open arms”: but isn’t this what Jesus would do?  Wouldn’t it be great to have an “open arms” policy in our homes and churches today?  More importantly, though, do we give the Lord “open arms” into our lives?

Let’s stop for a moment.  Just picture yourself with “open arms”.  Close your eyes and imagine with me for a moment.  Come on; it won’t hurt.  Can you see yourself?  Isn’t this an incredible language of love?  It is amazing how this small act of kindness will cut through the hurting hearts of many.  Sometimes we think if we could just be a great speaker or preacher we could really help people from all of the pain that comes through life’s circumstances.  Let me suggest to you that “open arms” are one of the greatest weapons in fighting spiritual warfare.  It is this incredible act of love and kindness that can set the captive free and mend broken hearts.  Do you really want to be the arms of Christ?  Do you really want to feel the anointing that flowed from the arms of our Savior?  Just be His arms and open them to the broken hearted and feel heaven flow through you to someone.  Let His healing touch flow through you unto a hurting world.  We do not need more religion; we just need more “open arms” to be extended to those that need His touch.

Also consider that “open arms” are a type of worship.  When we worship with “open arms” we release unto the Lord our friendship and love toward Him.

  • Ps 63:4: I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.

As we lift up our hands in worship to our Lord, we see that we are in the”open arms” position.  We see that we are not only worshiping our Lord, but we are also inviting Him into our hearts and lives even more.  This is a two way spiritual transaction.  We worship Him and He in turn comes to us.  He is in heaven with “open arms” to us and we are on earth with “open arms” to Him.  Then we will run to Him and He will run to us.  Is it possible for us to be an army going into the field of battle and our only weapons are our “open arms”?  Do you really think the enemy would be expecting these types of weapons?  I think not.  He is not prepared nor equipped with any such weapons of retaliation.  Perhaps the church could be a people that would leave the walls of our buildings, and with open arms, pick up those that have fallen into despair and hopelessness.  Can we be like the song below that Michael W. Smith wrote entitled “Open Arms”?  Can we be a people where our love knows no boundaries?  Can we be a people that are never judging, but always loving?  Can we really show the lost the cross?  The answer is yes we can.  Let’s just do it.

Blessings,

Alan

“Open Arms”

Many people in the steeple
But no one leaves the walls
Quick to stand and speak
All of their beliefs
Quick to leave you if you fall

Tell me where's the love
It knows no boundaries
Tell me where's the love
Yeah, Yeah
Open arms
We need to be
Open arms

Never judging
Always loving
Needs to be what we become
Lifting up the lost
Showing them the cross
Shining brightly like the sun

How To Become Available For The Manifestation Of His Glory Through Us

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me. Revelation 3:20

The Lord's part is to reveal His presence as being available to us. Our part is to be sensitive and responsive to His seeking presence in order to become available to Him as "a vessel" through whom His glory might be revealed.

He that hath My commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth Me: and he that loveth Me shall be loved of My Father, and I will love him, and will manifest Myself to him. John 14:21

The Secret Place by Donna SmallenbergWhen we rightly respond to His knocking on the door of our spirit, Jesus will lift us into the higher realms of divine activity. This revelation of His manifested presence will gradually increase and we will be brought into a deeper understanding of His end-time purposes. As we "keep His commandments" (respond to His presence), we become an overcomer and will experience the coming greater-visitation of His glory (the time of His parousia, that is, His coming presence (Strong's Greek #3952).

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the Blood of Jesus, by a new and living way, which He hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, His flesh... Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Hebrews 10:19-20, 22

It is very important for each of us to recognize that our relationship to the Lord is based on His righteousness, and not our own. Once we understand this, we can draw near to the Lord and commune with Him no matter how we may feel. As a result of this on-going, daily fellowship with Jesus, we become available for the manifestation of His glory through us.

About The Last Days Glory

We are living in the last days, during which there is to be a physical manifestation of the glory of God (shekinah). This experience in His manifested glory is becoming available to all those who presently are being prepared, because they have been experiencing the presence of the Lord (parousia).

When He shall come to be glorified in His saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. 2 Thessalonians 1:10

Winds of His Glory by Jennifer PageThis manifestation of glory is a part of the "parousia" – the appearing of the Lord to prepare those who are overcomers for their part in the closing out of this Age, and the ushering in of the Millennial Kingdom Age. Jesus will begin to personally appear to those who are called to become the expression of His life and ministry in the end-time and, by the placing of His hands on them, He will impart to them apostolic anointing and enabling.

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord (parousia) is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people; but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and His glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. Isaiah 60:1-3

Moses prefigures the manifestation and outworking of this end-time glory. He spent so much time in the presence of the Lord that his countenance literally glowed with the glory of the presence of the Lord.

But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory. 2 Corinthians 3:7-9 NKJV

The glory that was seen on the face of Moses so convicted Israel that when he spoke to them they asked for a veil to be placed over his face. They could abide his words, but not the visible glory which they saw resting upon him, as they saw themselves in the reflection of this revealed glory. Had Israel rightly responded, this manifested glory would have taken them into a deeper experience of their redemption from Egyptian bondage, and prepared them for a yet greater manifestation of His glory.

The Manifested Glory Of The Lord Will Be A Powerful Witness In That Day

First Peter 1:5 tells us that there is a "salvation" that is reserved or "ready to be revealed in the last time." This salvation is the coming forth of the glory of God in a physical, comprehensive way – a visible manifestation of the glory of the Lord upon our being (parousia).

The word "manifest" means "to make visible" to one or more of our five natural senses, which are: hearing, smell, taste, sight, and touch. Paul said:

The Manifest Sons of God by Mike De LorenzoYe are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men... 2 Corinthians 3:2

It is what we have become, rather than what we say, that is the most effective witness. Thus, the manifested glory of the Lord resting upon us will be a powerful witness in that day.

Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the Spirit; for the letter killeth, but the Spirit giveth life. 2 Corinthians 3:6

This is far more than our having the ability to preach an intellectually perceptive message. There have been orators who are successful through what they are able to say. Also, there are those who lack this ability, but are successful due to the anointing and manifestation of the Lord's presence that rests upon them. If they had some great natural ability, it would be evident that their success was due to this ability, rather than the imparted presence and glory of the Lord.

In this day, the Lord is taking behind the veil those who may be lacking in ability but who abide in His presence. These are seeking to better know Jesus and have made themselves available to Him for whatever purpose He may have. From these, the imparted "glory" will shine forth in manifest witness.

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord (parousia) is risen upon thee. Isaiah 60:1

The Scripture tells us that this glory, which we have received through the New Covenant, is greater than the glory which Moses had. Yet no one is being told to put a veil over their face when they minister. Thus, there is something available that we have not yet appropriated.

The enemy would tell us that we are not worthy to come behind the veil to behold His glory. We must reject and push past this deception and come boldly into His presence to "abide" in His glory.

Only then will the world see that which they are searching for, but have not yet found.

China on course to become 'world's most Christian nation' within 15 years

The number of Christians in Communist China is growing so steadily that it by 2030 it could have more churchgoers than America

Christian congregations in particular have skyrocketed since churches began reopening when Chairman Mao's death in 1976

It is said to be China's biggest church and on Easter Sunday thousands of worshippers will flock to this Asian mega-temple to pledge their allegiance – not to the Communist Party, but to the Cross.

The 5,000-capacity Liushi church, which boasts more than twice as many seats as Westminster Abbey and a 206ft crucifix that can be seen for miles around, opened last year with one theologian declaring it a "miracle that such a small town was able to build such a grand church".

The £8 million building is also one of the most visible symbols of Communist China's breakneck conversion as it evolves into one of the largest Christian congregations on earth.

"It is a wonderful thing to be a follower of Jesus Christ. It gives us great confidence," beamed Jin Hongxin, a 40-year-old visitor who was admiring the golden cross above Liushi's altar in the lead up to Holy Week.

"If everyone in China believed in Jesus then we would have no more need for police stations. There would be no more bad people and therefore no more crime," she added.

Officially, the People's Republic of China is an atheist country but that is changing fast as many of its 1.3 billion citizens seek meaning and spiritual comfort that neither communism nor capitalism seem to have supplied.

Christian congregations in particular have skyrocketed since churches began reopening when Chairman Mao's death in 1976 signalled the end of the Cultural Revolution.

Less than four decades later, some believe China is now poised to become not just the world's number one economy but also its most numerous Christian nation.

"By my calculations China is destined to become the largest Christian country in the world very soon," said Fenggang Yang, a professor of sociology at Purdue University and author of Religion in China: Survival and Revival under Communist Rule.

"It is going to be less than a generation. Not many people are prepared for this dramatic change."

China's Protestant community, which had just one million members in 1949, has already overtaken those of countries more commonly associated with an evangelical boom. In 2010 there were more than 58 million Protestants in China compared to 40 million in Brazil and 36 million in South Africa, according to the Pew Research Centre's Forum on Religion and Public Life.

Prof Yang, a leading expert on religion in China, believes that number will swell to around 160 million by 2025. That would likely put China ahead even of the United States, which had around 159 million Protestants in 2010 but whose congregations are in decline.

By 2030, China's total Christian population, including Catholics, would exceed 247 million, placing it above Mexico, Brazil and the United States as the largest Christian congregation in the world, he predicted.

"Mao thought he could eliminate religion. He thought he had accomplished this," Prof Yang said. "It's ironic – they didn't. They actually failed completely."

Like many Chinese churches, the church in the town of Liushi, 200 miles south of Shanghai in Zhejiang province, has had a turbulent history.

It was founded in 1886 after William Edward Soothill, a Yorkshire-born missionary and future Oxford University professor, began evangelising local communities.

But by the late 1950s, as the region was engulfed by Mao's violent anti-Christian campaigns, it was forced to close.

Liushi remained shut throughout the decade of the Cultural Revolution that began in 1966, as places of worship were destroyed across the country.

Since it reopened in 1978 its congregation has gone from strength to strength as part of China's officially sanctioned Christian church – along with thousands of others that have accepted Communist Party oversight in return for being allowed to worship.

Today it has 2,600 regular churchgoers and holds up to 70 baptisms each year, according to Shi Xiaoli, its 27-year-old preacher. The parish's revival reached a crescendo last year with the opening of its new 1,500ft mega-church, reputedly the biggest in mainland China.

"Our old church was small and hard to find," said Ms Shi. "There wasn't room in the old building for all the followers, especially at Christmas and at Easter. The new one is big and eye-catching."

The Liushi church is not alone. From Yunnan province in China's balmy southwest to Liaoning in its industrial northeast, congregations are booming and more Chinese are thought to attend Sunday services each week than do Christians across the whole of Europe.

A recent study found that online searches for the words "Christian Congregation" and "Jesus" far outnumbered those for "The Communist Party" and "Xi Jinping", China's president.

Among China's Protestants are also many millions who worship at illegal underground "house churches", which hold unsupervised services – often in people's homes – in an attempt to evade the prying eyes of the Communist Party.

Such churches are mostly behind China's embryonic missionary movement – a reversal of roles after the country was for centuries the target of foreign missionaries. Now it is starting to send its own missionaries abroad, notably into North Korea, in search of souls.

"We want to help and it is easier for us than for British, South Korean or American missionaries," said one underground church leader in north China who asked not to be named.

The new spread of Christianity has the Communist Party scratching its head.

"The child suddenly grew up and the parents don't know how to deal with the adult," the preacher, who is from China's illegal house-church movement, said.

Some officials argue that religious groups can provide social services the government cannot, while simultaneously helping reverse a growing moral crisis in a land where cash, not Communism, has now become king.

They appear to agree with David Cameron, the British prime minister, who said last week that Christianity could help boost Britain's "spiritual, physical and moral" state.

Ms Shi, Liushi's preacher, who is careful to describe her church as "patriotic", said: "We have two motivations: one is our gospel mission and the other is serving society. Christianity can also play a role in maintaining peace and stability in society. Without God, people can do as they please."

Yet others within China's leadership worry about how the religious landscape might shape its political future, and its possible impact on the Communist Party's grip on power, despite the clause in the country's 1982 constitution that guarantees citizens the right to engage in "normal religious activities".

As a result, a close watch is still kept on churchgoers, and preachers are routinely monitored to ensure their sermons do not diverge from what the Party considers acceptable.

In Liushi church a closed circuit television camera hangs from the ceiling, directly in front of the lectern.

"They want the pastor to preach in a Communist way. They want to train people to practice in a Communist way," said the house-church preacher, who said state churches often shunned potentially subversive sections of the Bible. The Old Testament book in which the exiled Daniel refuses to obey orders to worship the king rather than his own god is seen as "very dangerous", the preacher added.

Such fears may not be entirely unwarranted. Christians' growing power was on show earlier this month when thousands flocked to defend a church in Wenzhou, a city known as the "Jerusalem of the East", after government threats to demolish it. Faced with the congregation's very public show of resistance, officials appear to have backed away from their plans, negotiating a compromise with church leaders.

"They do not trust the church, but they have to tolerate or accept it because the growth is there," said the church leader. "The number of Christians is growing – they cannot fight it. They do not want the 70 million Christians to be their enemy."

The underground leader church leader said many government officials viewed religion as "a sickness" that needed curing, and Prof Yang agreed there was a potential threat.

The Communist Party was "still not sure if Christianity would become an opposition political force" and feared it could be used by "Western forces to overthrow the Communist political system", he said.

Churches were likely to face an increasingly "intense" struggle over coming decade as the Communist Party sought to stifle Christianity's rise, he predicted.

"There are people in the government who are trying to control the church. I think they are making the last attempt to do that."

Jonathan Cahn: The Harbinger

Jonathan Cahn: The Harbinger

By The 700 Club

LIGHT TO THE NATIONS
The massive scale of the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center made for startling images and a new frightening, sober reality for America.  But through this devastation Rabbi Cahn was given an understanding of what this meant to America through Isaiah 9:10, and the uncanny parallel this attack has to events in 8th century Israel.

Jonathan says before God judges a nation, He sends warning.  He sent warning to ancient Israel.  The attacks of 9/11 were a warning, and like ancient Israel, if the nation ignores God’s warning there will be dire consequences, Jonathan says.  Harbinger means “warning.”  In his book, The Harbinger, a prophetic mystery and message conveyed in the form of a novel, Jonathan tells of the supernatural connection between ancient Israel and America.  An unnamed Prophet speaks. However, the events are real, filled with insights the Lord revealed to Jonathan in the years after 9/11.

There are nine harbingers of what happens after the first attack if the nation refuses to return to God.  The judgments are progressive, with periods of normalcy in-between, but continue if there is no national repentance.  The economic implosion and other national ills spring from this event.  Israel and America are the only two nations that God sovereignly planted as a light to the nations.  “Those who laid America’s foundations saw it as a new Israel, an Israel of the New World.  And as with ancient Israel, they saw it as a covenant with God,” the Prophet says.  To whom much is given, much is required.

THE HARBINGERS
Based on Isaiah 9:10, - “The bricks have fallen, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycamores are cut down, but we will plant cedars in their place,” the northern 10 Tribes of Israel refused to repent after they were struck by the Assyrians - which was a warning from the Lord.   Instead of listening to the alarm, of turning back, and humbling themselves in repentance, they boasted of their resolve, that they would rebuild stronger and better than before.  They ignored the warning and rejected the call to return.  They defied it.  Sadly, their defiance led to the nation’s total destruction years later.  The ancient prophecy forms the key to the nine harbingers of judgment, which are given to a nation in danger of judgment – each of which have reappeared on American soil – marking America as the nation in danger of judgment.

The First Harbinger: The Breach.  In 732 B.C., the hedge of protection was removed and Israel’s enemies invade the land and wreak havoc.  The calamity traumatizes the nation but it takes place on a limited scale, as with 9/11.  The warning is the removal of the hedge.  On September 11, 2001, America’s hedge of protection was removed – the breach of America’s security, and was a sign that God has lifted His protective hand.

The Second Harbinger: The Terrorist.  It was the dark shadow of Assyrian terror that loomed over the kingdom of Israel.  The danger against which the prophets had warned.  And when, years later, Israel’s final judgment came, the Assyrians would again be the means through which it would happen.  So, too, the attack
on America is carried out by terrorists.  The Assyrians were a Semitic people, children of the Middle East.  So too were the terrorists of 9/11.

The Third Harbinger: The Fallen Bricks.  The most visible signs of the attack on ancient Israel were that of the fallen buildings and the ruin heaps of fallen bricks.  The third harbinger is the sign of the fallen bricks of the fallen buildings.  On Sept 11, 2001, Americans were confronted with the same sign, fallen bricks of the fallen buildings of the wreckage of Ground Zero.  America was not turning back to God.  It was a short-lived spiritual revival that never came.

The Fourth Harbinger: The Tower.  Israel defiantly began rebuilding on the devastated ground, vowing to rebuild higher and stronger.  So, too, in the wake of 9/11, American leaders vowed to rebuild at Ground Zero higher and stronger – the Tower begins to rise at Ground Zero.  Those involved act unwittingly.

The Fifth Harbinger:  The Gazit Stone.  We will rebuild with quarried stone - The Israelites carve out quarried stone from mountain rock and bring it back to the ground of destruction where clay bricks once stood.  Three years after 9/11, a stone is quarried out of the mountain rock of New York.  This massive stone was brought back to Ground Zero. In ancient Israel this stone became a misplaced embodiment of the nation’s confidence in its own power.  So too the massive stone at Ground Zero became the symbolic cornerstone of the rebuilding.  Public ceremonies accompanied the stone placement.  Plans to rebuild Ground Zero would be frustrated for years.  Eventually they would remove the stone from GZ altogether.

The Sixth Harbinger:  The Sycamore.  The Sycamores have been cut down - The attack on ancient Israel resulted in the striking down of the sycamore tree, a biblical sign of national judgment.  The fallen sycamore is a sign of uprooting, a warning and, in ignoring the warning, it becomes a prophecy of judgment.  On 9/11, as the North Tower fell it sent debris and wreckage which struck and uprooted an object – a sycamore tree growing at Ground Zero.  The tree was made into a symbol and named The Sycamore of Ground Zero.  When it fell in ancient Israel it prophesied the nation’s downfall and the end of its kingdom.  What happens to America depends on if the warning is heeded.

The Seventh Harbinger:  The Erez Tree.  But we will plant cedars in their place-  In their defiance of God, the Israelites replace the fallen sycamore with a Cedar tree.  The cedar, being stronger than the sycamore becomes a symbol of the nation’s arrogant hope that it will emerge from the crisis stronger than before. The English name for this tree is “Cedar,” but the Hebrew word is “Erez.”  Erezstands not only for cedar but for a conifer tree of the panacea family.  In November of 2003, a tree was lowered at the corner of Ground Zero into the soil where the fallen sycamore once stood.  The tree was a conifer, a panacea tree, the biblical Erez.  A ceremony was held around the tree and it, too, became a symbol – entitled The Tree of Hope.  There is always hope.  A nation’s true hope is found only in returning to God.

The Eight Harbinger:  The Utterance.  The Eighth Harbinger was the public speaking of the ancient vow of defiance.  For this harbinger to manifest, the vow would have to be spoken in the nation’s capital by a national leader, as it had been in ancient Israel.  On Sept 11, 2004, every object mentioned in the prophecy of Isa 9:10 had manifested.  The public utterance of the prophecy had to take place publicly, which happened on Sept 11, 2004 when VP candidate John Edwards, giving a speech in the capital city, quoted this exact scripture word for word in Wash., DC.  Without realizing it, he was joining the two nations together and, without realizing it, pronouncing judgment on America.  The ancient and the modern were bound together.

The Ninth Harbinger:  The Prophecy.   The Ninth Harbinger is the proclaiming of the ancient vow as prophecy, as a matter of public record, and spoken before the words come true.  On Sept 12, 2001, the day after
9/11,  America issues its official response to the attack.   The one in charge of issuing the response was Tom Daschle, Senate Majority Leader.  As he closes his speech he makes a declaration – he proclaims the ancient vow of defiance, word for word, to the world.  By doing so he prophesies the nation’s future course, all of which comes to pass.

The Second Shaking – The mystery of the Harbinger continues – and lies behind everything from the Global War on Terror, the Collapse of the American economy, the crash of Wall Street, the Great Recession, and more.

Amazingly, events happened with an unseen hand, and people acted unwittingly in the unfolding of this prophecy.  The Prophet character says that “The Almighty has His own purposes.”  God, in His mercy, always reaches out in mercy.  At Ground Zero, the ground of devastation becomes the ground of restoration.  Incredibly it was at the site of Ground Zero in the miracle church, St Paul’s Chapel, that this nation was dedicated to God by first president George Washington & other leaders at his inauguration in 1789.  The nation’s first government was formed in New York City before DC was formed.  God is calling the nation back to Himself.  “The heart of God wills for salvation,” the Prophet says.  “Greater than his judgments are His compassions.”

THE STORY BEHIND THE MESSAGE
Not long after 9/11 Jonathan sensed that somehow these events were linked to what happened to ancient Israel per Isa 9, the first massive divine warning given to that nation.  A number of years later, he was standing at the corner of Ground Zero and his attention was drawn to an object that was the first puzzle piece of an ancient mystery and a prophetic warning for America.  He first shared the word at his congregation Beth Israel in 2005.  A few years later he was led to begin committing the message to book form.  When the Lord started revealing these things Jonathan had an urgent sense that this word needed to get out.

COMING TO MESSIAH
Jonathan was raised in the synagogue but at age 8 questioned what he was taught.  Didn’t believe, and at age 11 he decided not to pursue a bar mitzvah.  By age 13 he questioned his atheism.  In 7th grade he became friends with a boy who spoke to him of Jesus – began searching for answers. Reading The Late Great Planet Earth by Hal Lindsey led him to open the Bible and begin reading about end-time prophecies.   There he discovered the prophecies of the Jewish Messiah in the Hebrew Scriptures.  It all pointed to Jesus, but Jonathan continued living as before, leading a rock band.  He began telling everyone about the prophecies and ended up winning others to the Lord, though he himself wasn’t saved.  He eventually realized that it wasn’t enough to just agree with it in his mind.  If Messiah came back, he would not be ready to meet Him.  He knew there was only one way to God but he didn’t want to give his life to God.  But feeling the continual call of God, he made a deal with Him.  If God would grant him long life, then he would accept the Lord... at the end – when he was about to die.

Soon after that he was almost killed.  Twice.  He was driving about 45 miles per hour in two lanes of traffic when the car went out of control, swerving into two oncoming lanes, spinning in and out of cars.  By a miracle he wasn’t killed.  A few months later, at night, he was driving across a train track and got stuck on it, even though he was trying to be careful.  He saw a big light – and it was the train which plowed into his little Ford Pinto.  As the car crumbled before him, he could only call out to God.  The car was demolished and the crash made headlines, but Jonathan escaped without a scratch.  Strike two.  Jonathan quickly changed his deal with God and accepted the Lord when he turned 20.  Not knowing much about salvation or how to come to God, he drove up to the top of a mountain, kneeled down to pray and dedicate his life to God.  Not long after he was asked to lead a Bible study.  After college the Lord interrupted his plans and called him into full-time ministry.  He wanted to do what Messiah would do, working with the needy, homeless and disabled.  He and others helped found a Messianic outreach.  A few years later in 1988, he was asked to lead Beth Israel, the largest Messianic congregation in America made up of Jew and Gentile alike.

Ukraine creates buzz for ed-times watchers

UKRAINE CREATES BUZZ FOR END-TIMES WATCHERS

Prophecy suggests when Russians capture Crimea, 'times of Messiah have started'

Rabbi Jonathan Cahn’s “The Harbinger” for two years has warned of God’s impending judgment.

And pastor Mark Biltz, the author of “Blood Moons: Decoding the Imminent Heavenly Signs,” has a message that the signs in the heavens are aligning again as they have in the past when there have been significant events for Israel.

Now, a writer for Haaretz, the Israeli news report, says observers are watching closely developments in the Ukraine based on the idea that it could generate the conflict with Gog and Magog, one of the Bible’s heralds of the end times and the return of the Messiah.

Chemi Shaley writes that Josephus Flavius, “the turncoat Jewish historian who chronicled the Masada saga,” theorized the Scythians, who lived in the central Eurasian region until the 4th century, lived in the land of Magog, “as in Gog and Magog, as in the war of Gog and Magog, as in the biblical prelude to the End of Days.”

Reported Shaley, “Which is one of the many reasons why recent events in the Ukraine have created a buzz among legions of apocalypse-anticipating true believers. This could be the real thing, they tell themselves, the big time, the major leagues, not the end of the beginning, to quote Winston Churchill in reverse, but the beginning of the end. And it is Vladimir Putin, aka Gog, aka King of the North, who has set things in motion.

“You only have to read Ezekiel chapters 38-39, the widely accepted handbook and screenplay for the upcoming decimation. According to traditional translations of verse 2 of Chapter 38, Gog is the ‘chief prince of Meshech and Tuval,’ ancient kingdoms also near the Black Sea. But the term used for ‘chief prince’ in Hebrew is ‘nesi rosh’ (as in נשיא ראש משך ותבל): Nesi could also mean ‘ruler’ or ‘president,’ and some scholars believe that ‘rosh’ is not an adjective, at all, but a noun denoting the name of yet another nation that will enter the fray. So Gog is the prince of Rosh, or the president of Rosh, or, with a little bit of help, the president of Russia.”

Those who follow news reports know that an insurrection in Ukraine against an elected leader was followed by a revolt in its state of Crimea, where a majority of the population is Russian. Residents there voted for a secession from Ukraine and a joining with Russia, a move the rest of the world has yet to accept even though Putin quickly incorporated the region into his holdings.

Shaley noted that has created some unusual circumstances, such as the question for officials at the Allard Pierson Museum in Amsterdam who are presenting an exhibit called “The Crimea, Gold and secrets from the Black Sea.”

The question is whether those assets now belong to Ukraine, which included Crimea when the exhibit opened, or Russia.

Shaley also reported that the prophecies suggest a cohort for Gog.

“And who will ride with Gog? Why Persia, of course, as specified in verse 5. And possibly Syria, though it hardly seems capable these days. And why will they all gang up on Israel? The Internet site RemantReport explains: 1) To acquire more territory (Ezekiel 38:8). 2) To plunder Israel’s wealth (38:12) (Israel’s newly discovered vast reserves of natural in the Mediterranean, of course, CS). 3) To destroy the Jews (38:11, 16). And 4) To challenge the authority of the Antichrist who will temporarily be Israel’s ally due to a treaty mentioned in Daniel 9:27, ‘That ruler will have a firm agreement with many people for seven years.’”

The article notes that if Gog is Putin, “Then we all know who the natural candidate for the Antichrist is. But let’s put that aside for now. In any case, there is a nuclear confrontation (‘I will start a fire in the land of Magog and along all the seacoasts where people live undisturbed, and everyone will know that I am the Lord) and then a massive seven-month cleanup and a mass burial, somewhere in Jordan, it seems.”

For Christians, the talking points then include an army of 200 million men from the East, and a variety of events follow.

“Jews, by the way, make do with just the war of Gog and Magog, after which messianic days are here and ‘swords are beaten into ploughshares’ etc. Nonetheless, Christians aren’t the only ones who are getting excited about the standoff in Eastern Europe. According to a report catching fire over the weekend in the haredi press in Israel, the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Shternbuch told his disciples this week that the times of the Messiah are upon us. And who is the source for his amazing analysis? None other than one of the top Jewish sages of all time, the Vilna Gaon himself, the Gra, ‘the genius of Vilnius,’ the famously harsh critic of Hasidic Judaism.”

The report continues, “According to said Shternbuch, he is privy to a closely guarded secret handed down from the 18th Century Vilna Gaon through generations of revered rabbis: ‘When you hear that the Russians have captured the city of Crimea, you should know that the times of the Messiah have started, that his steps are being heard. And when you hear that the Russians have reached the city of Constantinople (today’s Istanbul), you should put on your Shabbat clothes and don’t take them off, because it means that the Messiah is about to come any minute.’”

The “Harbinger,” and its companion documentary presentation, “The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment,” reveal the prophecy of that very reference.

“The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars,” says Isaiah 9:10.

The book explains how ancient Israel was initially attacked by the Assyrians as part of a limited judgment of God. But instead of repenting of their wicked ways, the Bible explains, Israel responded by putting its faith in its own ability to rebuild and rejecting repentance and re-dedication to God.

That spelled the eventual end of the Northern Kingdom of Israel, as Assyria conquered the nation and scattered, killed or took captive the population.

The premise of “The Harbinger” and “The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment” is that history is repeating itself in America today – since the limited attack of Sept. 11 – in a profound way, even with American leaders repeating the actual words of Isaiah 9:10 in responding to the cataclysm.

Here’s the trailer for “The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment”:
