"The Example of the Flower"

11.10.2021 – The Example of the Flower

I was listening to a young lady share about some of the challenges she has faced (and overcome) in her life.

And something she said really stuck with me…

She said,

“A flower doesn’t flourish overnight.

It doesn’t go from bud to blossom in one gigantic burst.

It takes patience,

time,

and a whole lot of precious tedium…”

And then she goes on to say that the beauty is…

“…in the waiting to unfurl,

unfold,

and fully bloom into something

magnificently

and beautifully

wondrous.”

And I love this reminder.

I need this reminder…

Because it’s so easy to want a quick fix sometimes,

“Can you just fix all of this right now, God?”

Of course He can, and there are times that He does.

But when it comes to most things, it doesn’t usually happen that way.

But don’t you think that He knows what He is doing? ☀️

It’s so easy to want an instant transformation…

…but God has purposely designed our transformation process to take place within the steps of our journey with Him—the unfolding of the beauty of His work slowly and patiently blooms within the process that we go through alongside Him.

And the way that He transforms us is usually something we cannot see in the moment, it takes time and patience for us to see His work unfold into its fullness. 🌱🌷🌺

“Love is patient, love is kind…” —1 Corinthians 13:4–8

And I am learning to be content with exactly where I am in the moment, because I trust Him, and because I know that He is with me, and I know that He is taking me somewhere, and He is doing something within me that glorious and beautiful.

And He won’t leave me where I am, He is faithfully leading me on. 🏃🏻‍♀️☀️

And it’s okay… it’s all part of the way He has chosen to do this thing called “life” with us. 💖

…might as well enjoy the experience of this blossoming relationship with Him—a relationship that is deepening, and growing, and flourishing, and taking form… for such a time as this. ☀️

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into His image with intensifying glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”—2 Corinthians 3:17-18

Thank You, Father. 💝
