In a media or a social environment where one is subjected to lies and half truths, without knowledge of all the facts. It becomes easy to entertain the lie to the point of deception. Once we become deceived because of our lack of knowledge concerning a thing, a stronghold in our life developes. When that lie is challenged by truth many things in our hearts and minds are manifested. We will defend that lie with pride because we do not want to admit that we can be deceived, creating an atmosphere of strife and resentment. This evidence should tell us that we missed it. The world loves darkness more than light, because there is no light in them.

As Christains we possess the Spirit of truth in us. But we also can be deceived and lead away by our own wicked reasoning. It takes the power of the Holy Spirit to bare witness with our spirit to overcome the lie we have taken hold of. Mark 3:27 tells us, "No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house. We need the power of truth and the Holy Spirit to free us of strongholds in our lives. It's important to stay built up with the word of God, casting down vain imaginations that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God. It's best not to bite the apple that does not possess all the facts.

Father, I pray that you keep our minds and hearts in the truth of your Word in Christ Jesus.
