  • I wonder if parable of the 10 virgins is a reference to the last days church.. All virgins were sanctified, all virgins set out to meet the groom, all virgins had lamps with oil in them. There was a process happening in this picture. The one element that comes up short in the story is the oil. Not enough oil to light the way forward. Why couldn't the 5 just follow the light of the others. This seems to be a reasonable question? I believe that reference to oil is about our faith. Could it be that 5 had to little faith and they understood that their faith had ran out. Hebrews 11:6 "Without faith it is impossible to please God. Could these 5 virgins have realized that they needed additional faith to trust God to find there way forward. The Holy Spirit works in the realm of faith, He will lead and guide us in all truth. Would it be possible the 5 foolish virgins relied more on works than faith. Maybe they were out of balance. Faith without works is dead. What is faith? Isaiah 50:10 "Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the the word of servant? Let him who walks in the dark , who has not light trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God. Or it can be read "Let him who walks in faith, who has no knowledge trust in the name of the Lord".

I can only pray that our loving Father helps us stay fefore his Throne with a heart on worship. That we don't come up short when it's time to meet him. Help us renew our minds daily concerning your Words and Deeds. To stay focused on the commission of the Gospel.
