Prepare for War in 2024, Part 1 Rick Joyner

Prepare for War in 2024, Part 1
    Rick Joyner

The title for this week’s word is also the title of our upcoming New Year’s conference. In this gathering, we seek to hear a prophetic word for the coming year, thus we call it the Vision Conference. The Lord has honored this, and our words have been getting increasingly specific and exciting. At last year’s conference, Chris Reed gave his “40 Prophecies for 2023 and Beyond,” which would either happen or begin to unfold in 2023. Some of the more mystifying words happened within a few weeks. And now, as we approach the end of the year, it seems the rest will soon come to pass.

We believe the Lord gave the title for this upcoming gathering, “Prepare for War in 2024,” so we could seek Him for clarity on how to prepare. It is now obvious we are in a time of war, and it is more reality than prophetic. So, the real question is, what can and should we, the body of Christ, do about this?

There is no greater human tragedy than war. This tragedy becomes magnified with unnecessary wars. I have personally witnessed the Lord giving to leaders who were headed for war the opportunity and wisdom to avoid them. Still, even those leaders who acknowledged these warnings as coming from the Lord did not heed them. The Lord is always faithful to give us opportunities to avoid such terrible human calamities. It is the devil who comes to kill and destroy, and nothing kills and destroys like war.

Winston Churchill is considered the greatest wartime leader of modern times. He called World War II “the unnecessary war.” History reveals this most devastating war, despite our chaotic and conflicted human history, was avoidable. Even when it became unavoidable, had the leaders at that time recognized it had crossed this line and engaged this with resolve, its devastation could have been reduced to less than one percent of what it became because of their hesitancy and lack of resolve to fight when it was time to fight.

The point is many lives can be saved if we will just recognize when a situation has crossed a line and act quickly and decisively. General Douglas MacArthur rightly said, “It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.”

Those who lead during wars with only the goal of peace usually accept terms for peace which later lead to even more devastating conflicts. We must resolve to completely vanquish the evil that has manifested, as Joshua did at Ai. So long as he held out the spear, Israel prevailed. When he drew it back, their enemies prevailed. Joshua finally held out the spear long enough for their enemies to be defeated.

When our adversaries perceive that our resolve is tepid or hesitant, their resolve and courage only increase. Alexander the Great famously said, “I am not afraid of an army of lions led by a sheep; I am afraid of an army of sheep led by a lion.” We can have the most capable army on the planet and still be defeated if our leaders lack clarity, resolve, and wisdom.

Churchill called World War II “the unnecessary war” because Hitler could easily have been defeated in 1938 when Germany began threatening its neighbors. At the time, it was estimated this would have taken weeks at a cost of twenty thousand casualties. The Nazi generals later agreed with this assessment, realizing when they toured the Czech fortifications in 1938, they could not have defeated them. Still, British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain and his French counterpart, Edouard Daladier, considered this a horrible price to pay and decided instead to pursue a policy of appeasement. A year later, when the appeased Hitler attacked Poland and war could no longer be avoided, the human cost was eventually between 50 and 100 million

Peace is always preferable to war, but some wars must be fought because the cost of not fighting them is too high and the delay in recognizing this can cost even higher. Appeasement has and never will work when confronted by a bully spirit.

History proves if you give in to the demands of a bully, it will result in greater demands. Bullies don’t really want what they demand, so much as they want dominance over others. If we are not willing to become their slaves, we must fight back. The sooner we do this, the less we must fight. Is there a single example in history when this was not true?

Since we are now in a time of war, what does such resolve look like? This we will cover next week.

 But we see Jesus

The theme of this year's Opwekking was 'But we see Jesus', based on Hebrews 2:9.

“It refers to the fact that Jesus preceded us in the plan God has for us. Although we still see the brokenness resulting from the Fall in our own lives and in the world, when we see Jesus, we gain a pure perspective on life, others and ourselves”, explained the organisers.

William Tyndale Martyred On October 6, 1536

A Brief Introduction to the Life and Ministry of William Tyndale

September 13, 2017

A Man on a Mission

There should really be a movie made about William Tyndale. His is an adventure story. This is not the story of some scholarly, ivory-tower theologian. Tyndale had a singular desire, and that was to see the Word of God available in the native language of his people.

These folks did not have the Word of God available to them—it was only available in Latin. And so few people could read Latin. Even many of the priests didn’t know Latin. This was a time in the church when there was simply not access to the Word of God. And without access to the Word of God, we simply will not hear, or know, the gospel.

He’s sometimes called God’s outlaw. That’s indeed what William Tyndale was.

Tyndale wanted precisely this—people to hear and know the gospel. But this was against the law in England. In fact, it was a law that was punishable by death. And so Tyndale realized that he could not do this in England. So, he left England, went to Germany, and ended up in the city of Mainz. The city of Mainz has a rich history in printing, because that’s where the very first printing press was set up by Johannes Gutenberg. And of course, the first book to come off of Gutenberg’s press was the Bible. It was the Bible in Latin—the Gutenberg Bible.

So Tyndale went there to print the Bible in English. He assumed a false name so that he could fly under the radar and he gathered just a few people to work on this project with him and selected a printer that he could trust.

The Secretive Work of William Tyndale

This group would do their work during the day, going about their normal business that would pay the bills as a printer and keep the shop open. After they all went home in the evening hours, they would quietly make their way back to the shop, and overnight, they would work on printing the Bible in English.

At some point, one of them betrayed Tyndale, turning him over to the authorities. This is as if straight out of an adventure story. As the authorities came, Tyndale’s betrayer had a change of mind, and just as he tipped off the authorities, he also gave Tyndale a warning that the authorities were coming for him.

Tyndale quickly gathered up as many of the pages as he could. He’d only made it into the first few chapters of Matthew, so he gathered up the few pages that were printed, bundled them in his satchel, and ran out the back door of the print shop, literally as the authorities were coming in.

He ended up going to the city of Wittenberg, where he associated himself with and learned from Martin Luther. Yet his commitment remained to print the Word of God in English. And God blessed his efforts. He succeeded in his mission and produced the Tyndale New Testament.

The Reformation

The Reformation

Stephen J. Nichols

Goes behind the scenes and uncovers the human side of the larger-than-life Reformers through user-friendly narrative stories on the Reformation.

God’s Outlaw

The fascinating thing is that probably 85% of the King James text is the Tyndale text. And of course, all of the English texts since then have come back to the King James as their base.

So as we sit today and read our different versions—for instance, the English Standard Version—we need to remember the debt that we owe to William Tyndale.

He eventually was caught and martyred for his commitment to see the Word of God in English. He’s sometimes called God's outlaw. That’s indeed what William Tyndale was.

California Bill Will Charge Parents With Child Abuse If Not Trans Affirming

News Image
print sharing button

A recently amended California bill would add "affirming" the sexual transition of a child to the state's standard for parental responsibility and child welfare--making any parent who doesn't affirm transgenderism for their child guilty of abuse under California state law.

AB 957 passed California's State Assembly on May 3, but a co-sponsor amended it after hours in California's State Senate on June 6.

Assembly Member Lori Wilson, D-Suisun City, wrote the bill and introduced it on Feb. 14. State Sen. Scott Weiner, D-San Francisco, co-sponsored it. Wilson's child identifies as transgender.

Originally, AB 957 required courts to consider whether a child's parents were "gender-affirming" in custody cases. Wiener's amendment completely rewrites California's standard of child care.

AB 957 post-amendment "would include a parent's affirmation of the child's gender identity as part of the health, safety, and welfare of the child," altering the definition and application of the entire California Family Code.

California courts would be given complete authority under Section 3011 of California's Family Code to remove a child from his or her parents' home if parents disapprove of LGBTQ+ ideology.

By changing the definition of what constitutes the "health, safety, and welfare of [a] child," schools, churches, hospitals, and other organizations interacting with children would be required to affirm "gender transitions" in minors by default--or risk charges of child abuse.

AB 957 could also expand which organizations provide "evidence" of gender "nonaffirmation" to California's courts.

Because of the addition of "gender affirmation" to the qualifications of California's standards for "health, safety, and welfare," California's courts would now be able to accept reports of gender "abuse" from progressive activist organizations--as long as they claim to provide "services to victims of sexual assault or domestic violence."

In essence, a boy could report his parents to his local school's Gay-Straight Alliance club or other LGBTQ+ organization, who could then report the boy's parents for child abuse.

Incredibly, the bill provides no definition whatsoever of what would qualify as "nonaffirming" to a child's gender.

As Susannah Luthi of The Washington Free Beacon points out, "The bill makes no distinctions regarding the age of a child, how long a child has identified as transgender, or affirmation of social transition versus medical sex-change treatments."

It remains unclear what law or precedent California courts would be able to cite in determining whether a parent was affirming--much less to define a standard that applies to all situations.

AB 957 isn't Wiener's first foray into legislating transgenderism for children. Last year, Wiener authored bill SB 107, making California the first state to establish itself as a sanctuary for minors' transgender treatments and surgeries. Gov. Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, signed the bill into law in September.

In March, Advocates for Faith and Freedom sued Newsom's administration in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California Western Division.

Parental rights advocates and experts lambasted Weiner's amendment that would upend the California Family Code.

Jay Richards, the Director of the Richard and Helen DeVos Center for Life, Religion, and Family at The Heritage Foundation, calls AB 957 a "grotesque violation."

While more and more European countries pound the breaks on ghoulish gender medicine for kids, California has decided to mandate it. They not only want to make sure that any child with discordant feelings toward his or her sexed body gets fast tracked to cross-sex hormones and sterilizing surgery, state Democrats want to go after parents who might otherwise hesitate. This is a grotesque violation of both children's and parent's rights. Decent Californians on the Left, Right, and center should be outraged.

Nicole Pearson, founder of the Facts Law Truth Justice law firm and civil rights advocacy group, condemned AB 957's unconstitutionality in an interview with The Daily Signal:

This bill makes law that failure to affirm your child's identity is child abuse. This will be a final, legal determination without any evidence in support, or a hearing with notice or the opportunity to be heard. Assemblywoman Wilson and Senator Scott Weiner are not doctors. They can't make this determination for every single child aged 0 to 17 in the state and, yet, that is exactly what they're trying to do here.

If a parent or guardian is unwilling or simply not ready to affirm their 7-year-old's new identity--as they transition from Spongebob to Batman to Dora the Explorer--they can be found guilty of child abuse under AB-957 if it passes into law.

This is a horrifying bill for children, and for parents and guardians not just in California, but across the country. Gavin Newsom is gunning for president in 2028. If he signs this bill into law, here, it will be headed to every state if he wins.

AB 957 has a scheduled hearing in the State Senate on June 13 at 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time.

Mass baptism in Southern California described in ‘Biblical proportions’

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – At the same ocean cove that became a focal point for the Jesus Movement in the 1960s and 70s, and also used as a filming location for the Jesus Revolution movie, 4,500 people were baptized over the weekend. Evangelist Greg Laurie and others are describing the mass baptism held at Pirates Cove in Newport Beach, and hosted by Harvest Crusade and Churches, in biblical terms.

“On the day of Pentecost, after Peter preached, we read in the Bible that 3,000 people were baptized. At Pirates Cove, we are looking at a baptism of biblical proportions,” Laurie told the Washington Times at the event tagged as the “Jesus Revolution Baptism."

For me this is a place that’s filled with memories. This is where we also filmed the Jesus Revolution movie,” he said. “It’s funny because Pirates Cove has been here forever, now it’s taking on a whole new meaning for a lot of people. They not only want to be baptized, they want to be baptized here.”

For many people getting baptized, the movie’s baptism scene served as a catalyst for making a profession of faith in Jesus Christ and publicly showing their commitment at the same location.

Christian Los, 17, who was baptized alongside his uncle, said it was watching the story of Laurie’s life portrayed in the movie that touched him.

“In the movie, I was able to see Greg Laurie’s transition of going from being a non-believer to a believer while he was meeting all these people, like Lonnie Freesbie,” Los said. “It reminded me of the people that I have met along the way.”

The Jesus Revolution movie demonstrated “the power of baptism and more significantly, what salvation looks like visually,” Laurie said. “By watching someone get baptized the way it was done in the film it really conveyed what conversion can look like. It really resonated with a lot of people.”

After coming out of the water from his baptism, Bill Ellison, 67, said he “always believed in God” but prior to this point in his life, was not ready to profess Jesus as his savior. He came closer to his decision by watching and listening to various Christian broadcasts, including from Laurie and Harvest.

“With all the bad things that are happening in the world you need to have the hope of salvation,” Ellison said. “We are all sinners, but we have the hope of Christ, who died on the cross for our sins.”

When asked why she decided to get baptized, Shawn Raybourn, 61, from Tustin, California, simply said, “To be born again. It’s hard to describe. I’ve been wanting this for a long time.”* Laurie said he believes the baptism at Pirates Cove on Saturday represents a unique moment in history.

“There were never crowds like this 50 years ago in the Jesus Movement,” he said. “This is new and fresh. What’s happening is clearly inspired by the Jesus People revival. People want to have their own revival today. This is revival-like. No question about it.”

Harvest pastor Richard Garcia, who was one of the many pastors on hand to help baptize the thousands of willing people, said that with each one of the baptisms he gets “very emotional.”

“There’s something about it when they come out of the water and have that weight lifted off them,” Garcia said. “They are dying to their old man and raising up anew. They just want to turn and hug me. Their first expression is one of love and joy and excitement.”

In a social media post, Mr. Laurie said: “This may be the largest baptism in American history, maybe world history. God Knows, but it was AMAZING! We give Him all the Glory.

The Coming Rain

I hear much thunder but it is a sound of heaven. There is a shift happening in the spirit. The prayers of old are preparing to come forth as revival rain. What you have been waiting for is upon you. The thunder is proof of the coming rain. Have no fear of the thunder for it is prophetic of the future. Any accusations are in the thunders but they are not the coming rain. Focus on the rain and not the thunder. The thunder will force you higher for this is not about a prophet true or false but about the coming rain and the outpouring of the Spirit. A prophet declares the will of God and declares the rain is coming. The thunder is to be expected so therefore rejoice at the sound and find your victory in knowing that God’s appearing is preceded first by a mighty sound. The heart of the prophet turns the thunder into a glorious announcement of the coming of the rain. Amen. Trust you.

Life Must Be Found

Thoughts and Perceptions:

Life Must Be Found

By: Alan Smith

  • Romans 1:16-17: This Good News tells us that God makes us ready for heaven-makes us right in God's sight-when we put our faith and trust in Christ to save us. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scripture says it, "The man who finds life will find it through trusting God." (TLB)

What a perception, don’t you think?  How can you be alive and still need to find life?  Could there be more to life than just living?  Here is another one of the secrets of the Kingdom of God.  The man or woman who “finds life” must have a desire for “real life”.  I am not talking about the pleasures of life or self gratification; no, not at all.  To find “more life” means to discover and perform physically, mentally, and spiritually what God has placed inside of you to be and to do.  You know, that part of you that has never been truly expressed.  It is your “inner being” crying out to create something.  You can feel it from deep within you.  Perhaps you have managed to shut down this voice crying from within your soul.  This creative voice which God has put down in the depths of your soul is His voice calling you to come and create with Him.  He is not calling you to recreate what others have already created.  No, He is calling you to come and create with Him.  He is not asking you to sacrifice life and die.  No, He is calling you to start “living more life”.  Before we move on in this thought, ask yourself these two questions.  Are you trying to find “more life” through competitive games with people?  Or are you seeking “more life” by being a creative thinker under the influence of the Kingdom of God?  You must put your “faith and trust in Christ” that His sacrifice was and is the only sacrifice that is needed to save mankind from destructive thinking.  You must stop dying and start living.  You are not the “sacrifice” for man; only Christ could perform this task.  God does not want you to sacrifice yourself for others.  This sacrifice has already been made.  He truly wants you to start living.  Let’s look at this thought more closely.

  • 1 Corinthians 15:37: When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else. (NIV)

In this scripture you can see that Christ was the “seed” which had to be sown into the earth and die.  You are to be the fruit of Him being sown and you are to live!  As this fruit, He wants you to “find life”, “live life” and then “give life” to others.  So how can you “give life” away unless you are “finding life” through trusting God and the finished work of Christ, the sacrifice for the world?  God wants you to live life fully, with much joy and abundance.  It is then that you can give out of this substance of the Kingdom of God.  You know you have received this revelation of living life fully when you desire for everyone to have this same experience.  You must always remember that God wants all of His creation to discover the true reason for existing.

Is your experience of “finding life” one that you could recommend to others, or are you living a life of competitiveness with people, instead of creativeness with God?  A competitive life will take away and give it unto itself; but a creative life will bless others and in turn be blessed itself.  When you are “finding life” and giving it away, all will be blessed.  No one has to lose to be blessed when God gives away “more life”.  You must stop these thoughts of competition for what has already been created and trust God for new creativity and life in you.  When you gain “more life” from a selfish motive, it is never satisfactory or permanent.  This competitive motive will be conquered tomorrow by another and all that was gained will be lost.  To “find more life” you must “give more life”.  It is in the “giving” that you “find”.  You do not have to take advantage of anyone to gain more life.  On the contrary, you must bless others in order to receive blessing.

You are to create and give away.  In doing this you must understand that this creative supply has no end.  In fact, you are to create with God and not compete with Satan.  Once you enter into competitive thinking with the enemy, you have entered into his game.  This will shut down all creativity in your life.  Once you fall into competitive thinking, all creative thinking will stop.  It is imperative that you rise above this low thinking which comes from the competitive nature of Satan, and have a higher standard of thinking which comes from the creative nature of the Kingdom of God.  Satan has been defeated.  Why do you act like this is not true?  All he can do is seduce you into competing with him and others in all of your thoughts.  You then enter into a war that has already been won; and the victory of Christ has no affect for you are fighting just the same.

When you battle the enemy, you are always taking inventory of your visible supply: a very selfish way of thinking.  When you think creatively, you are always looking unto the limitless supply of your God: a very unselfish way of thinking.  When you start “finding more life” from God, it is because you trust that His ways are true, and in turn, more life is produced in you to give away.  Remember, there is an endless supply of creativity.  This “more life” can have many different forms and values.  It can be more joy, more patience, more love, more laughter, more giving: a higher way of thinking.  It can even be a better attitude or more money with which you can bless others.  When you truly find “more life” in God, all of your creative thinking will bless yourself as well as others.  You will be able to give more to every man than you take from him.  In other words, when you work for someone, you will give more of your labor and attention to him than that for which he is paying you.  This in return will bless you beyond measure.  When you deal with others, you must ask yourself, “Is this going to bless him more than it will me”?  If the answer is “yes”, then this is creative thinking.  Creative thinking will add “more life” to your living.  When you arise to this heavenly thinking, you have left the competitive realm and moved into the creative realm.  It is here that you will find “more life”.  When you give every man more than you take, you are then adding “more life” upon the face of the earth.

So ask yourself, will you let your “light shine” in a dark place?  Sure, there is darkness all around, but “real life” which comes from God’s secret Kingdom will quench any darkness when it enters the room.  The powers of this dark world are always whispering to you depression, guilt, anger, despair, lack, or pride.  They will try to convince you that others have taken all you were to have in this life; that there is nothing left for you.  Let me tell you the truth: this is a lie!  How can others take what has not been created yet?  This is a new day waiting to be created.  I encourage you to trust God, for He is waiting to create this day with you.  It cannot be stolen, for it is waiting to be created.  Again I say “Trust God” and His Kingdom, for His Kingdom is not of this world.  It is waiting to be experienced by the expression of “more life”.  Come near to God and trust Him for His arms are open, just waiting for you to speak to Him.  He will then open your spirit and say “Come”.  Remember, His arms are always open and they are the gates of the Kingdom of Heaven.  Run unto Him and “find more life”.

Blessings,

Alan

1988 Cuban Revival - Do It Again!

1988 Cuban Revival

cuban.jpg?profile=RESIZE_710x

Introduction
This revival has not been documented in a way that will answer an outsider’s many questions. Though many details are not accessible, we have chosen to write this story from the scarce information available to us at this time.

Torture and Imprisonment – Prior to the Revival
Beginning in the late 1950s, when the communists gained control of Cuba, they began torturing and killing pastors. Many pastors, if they had the money, fled the country, or they dropped out of the ministry. The ones remaining were not the flamboyant and powerful leaders of mega-churches. They were the ordinary and common pastors that lived among and loved their people.

The Cuban Church for the next 30-40 years suffered tremendous persecution and oppression. Even so, the persecution served to purge the Church of the lukewarm, leaving behind the anointed dedicated believers willing to risk everything for Christ.

Extraordinary Prayer
This is a comment from a Cuban, as to why revival came to their island nation:

It has come because we have paid the price. We have suffered for the Gospel; and we have prayed for many, many years.

Slide3.jpg?profile=RESIZE_710x

What Happened
The revival began in a small church in Madruga, Cuba, in 1988. An evangelist had come to conduct services for four days, and the pastor of the church said that because the presence of the Lord was so powerful, that

People would begin to weep when they entered the church.

Many miracles occurred, and after four days the evangelist left, leaving the pastor wondering how to keep the current move of God moving forward.

At the next service, some people brought a man who had been paralyzed all his life to receive prayer for healing. The people, who had recently been witnessing miracles through the recently departed evangelist, gathered around to see what the pastor would do. Instead of praying for the man, the pastor preached. At the end of his message, he knelt beside the man and said,

Just as Peter did, I command you to rise up and walk!

The man jumped to his feet and began running around the church. The crowd was overwhelmed. People began bringing hundreds of sick people to the church for prayer. The crowds became so uncontrollable that the army assisted in managing the crowds.

The only way the ministry needs could be met was to conduct services 24 hours per day, with up to 400 in each service—40 minutes for each service. One church service was held inside the church, and one was conducted simultaneously on the flat roof of the church.

The pastor and other leaders became so tired that the young people were called upon to preach as well. The lines leading to the church were four blocks long. The many miracles kept the crowds coming. The revival at this particular church lasted two months before the government shut it down.

There were more than 60 other churches that experienced a similar move of the Spirit, and that revival atmosphere lasted for several years.

Opposite End of the Island
The evangelist who conducted the four day service in Madruga had traveled to the city of Santiago, where, with two other pastors in that area, he began to hold services. And as before, the miracles began.

As people heard about the many healings, they came by the thousands. After five days the police busted into the church in the middle of a meeting, dragging the people out as they beat them. They smashed the piano and pews and put the leaders in jail.

Results of the Revival
► The spirit of atheism was given a severe beating.

►The revival was experienced by Pentecostals, Baptists, independent evangelical churches, and some Methodist and Nazarene churches.

► One Assemblies of God church had around 100,000 visitors in six months, many coming on buses. One weekend they had 8,000 visitors.

► Healing miracles became common.

► In one evangelical church over 15,000 people accepted Christ in three months.

► A Baptist pastor reported signs and wonders occurring continuously with many former atheists and communists being saved. So many were converted that more than 2,400 house churches had to be established.

► In central Cuba, a miraculous healing took place at a 150-seat church at the beginning of a nine-day crusade. The impact of that miracle was so great that 5,000 tried to pack themselves into that building. During those nine days, 1,200 people became Christians, and there were further healings. The two pastors were eventually put in prison, but the revival continued to spread throughout Cuba.

► Though open evangelism was outlawed, children, teens, and adults continued to witness boldly in parks, beaches, and other public places, regardless of the risk. One pastor commented that there was a “holy and glorious restlessness” among the believers.

► The once defensive mood and attitude of the church turned offensive, making the believers united behind a common vision: “Cuba para Cristo” – Cuba for Christ!

► In 1990 an Assemblies of God pastor, whose congregation never exceeded 100 people meeting once a week, suddenly found himself conducting 12 services per day for 7,000 people. They started lining up at 2 am and even broke down doors just to get into the prayer meetings.
